Katikati Naturist Park is situated in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, one of the most popular summer holiday areas in New Zealand. We are only three kilometres from Katikati where there is a full range of shops that can supply your everyday needs. There are many interesting places to visit in the local area. The following are the main local attractions.
Katikati is known as "The Mural Town". Fascinating murals, depicting local history have been painted by professional artists on buildings around the town centre. They already number more than twenty, and others are being planned. The artwork is now being extended to include sculpture. A booklet explaining the murals is available at the Information Centre in the main street of town.
In Katikati itself is the 'Haiku Pathway' along which there are numerous river boulders into which have been carved Haiku, a form of verse.
Only a few kilometres from Katikati Naturist Park is the Morton Estate vineyard, which includes a top-quality restaurant.
Also 3kms from KNP are the Kaimai Ranges, an extensive area of bush clad hills with many bushwalks which take from 40 minutes to several days to complete.
There are several other restaurants close by which suit a range of tastes and pockets.
Craft workers and craft shops abound in the district.
The local museum offers an historical slice of life greater than just the history of Katikati.
There is a 18 hole golfcourse just a few minutes drive away - unfortunately you have to wear clothes.
Waihi Beach, excellent for surfing, is only 15 minutes drive away.
Tauranga City can be reached in 25 minutes by car.

Waimarino Canoes on the Wairoa River between Katikati and Tauranga provides kayaking on the river and Tauranga Harbour. You can also get expert tuition and purchase equipment there. Alternatively they will take you on a river boat cruise.
